In 2009, MTV announced their newest addition to the franchise, My Super Psycho Sweet 16, a horror movie based on the concept of the show, which was aired on Octoand followed by two sequels: Part 2 (2010) and Part 3 (2012). On the show, a number of parents of participants on My Super Sweet 16 banish their teens to remote countries in order to see if their "sweet sixteener" will survive the harsh conditions. In 2008, MTV launched a spinoff titled Exiled. A United Kingdom version of the program was also produced, and also a Spanish version entitled "Quiero mis quinces" or "Super Dulces 16" produced by MTV.
Bow Wow, Sean Kingston, Aly & AJ, Chris Brown, Soulja Boy Tell Em and Teyana Taylor have all had their parties featured on the show. The show has also covered a number of celebrity coming of age parties. The series had two spin-offs, Exiled and The Real Deal, which have both ended their run by 2010. The opening theme is "Sweet Sixteen" sung by Hilary Duff. The show aired on MTV from January 18, 2005, to September 11, 2017. Parties include the quinceañera (a sweet 15), the sweet 16, and other birthdays including a My Super Sweet 21 (which was broadcast during MTV's Spring Break party) and My Super Swag 18. My Super Sweet 16 is an American reality television series documenting the lives of teenagers, usually in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom, generally with wealthy parents who throw lavish, excessive and expensive coming-of-age celebrations. For other uses, see Exile (disambiguation).
At the same time, Alicia ( Paula DeAnda) is making her way through the movie as an unexpected romance occurs between Shannon, Taylor's brother, and Sara."Exiled (TV series)" redirects here. This leads to many more arguments until finally, the two split the party and compete with each other to have the biggest party, all while insulting each other. Sara tries to deal with Jacquie's personality change until Jacquie starts insisting to make Taylor a party planner, something that Sara hates. However, when Jacquie transfers to the school Sara goes to, a rich girl called Taylor makes friends with Jacquie (because Taylor never had a sweet sixteen) and then proceeds to change Jacquie to be more like herself in order to destroy Sara and Jacquie's relationship. Sara and Jacquie start making plans for a huge " Sweet 16" party for the both of them, all with proceeds going to a charity called "Hollywood Heart". They share everything, including the same birthday, which they always celebrate together. The film centers on best friends Sara ( Amanda Michalka) and Jacquie (Regine Nehy).
